  • What is a credit?
    A book credit allows you to listen to any audiobook in our library. You can choose one book per credit. You can use a credit to purchase any audiobook regardless of price. You have up to one year after the issue date to use any credit you receive. When you cancel your membership, your credits will be lost (regardless of expiration date) along with your other membership benefits. You'll be able to access your credit information anytime in your full credit summary, found on your Account Details page.
  • Can I buy more credits?
    If you have used up your credits for the month, you can upgrade to higher plan membership and use more credits.
  • What do I need to know about my free membership?
    On a free membership you will only be able to access 3 free books. To access more books please upgrade your membership to one of the paid options. You can sign up for a free trial month for the paid membership. Once you sign up for our 30 day free trial, you get your first paid book free. You may cancel anytime during those 30 days. Once your free trial has expired, your monthly subscription fee will be automatically charged to the billing information on your account, and you can continue to enjoy great audiobooks. **Please note that your free trial begins the day you sign up. For example, if you signed up for the free trial on April 1st the last day of your trial would be May 1st.
  • Can I listen to more than one audiobook per month?
    Absolutely! With our subscription plan, one credit is automatically added to your account each month. To get more, you can either purchase top-up credits through the website.
  • How much data and space does it take to listen to or download an audiobook on my smartphone?
    Audiobook titles vary in size. If you're streaming and downloading an audiobook, we suggest having strong connection in your area. If you're downloading the audiobook to your iPhone or Android smartphone, check that you have enough memory space on your device.
  • What is a la carte?
    Our a la carte purchasing system allows you to purchase titles outside of our credit system, gain access to deep discounts on top titles, and have more flexible audiobook libraries (and bank accounts). A la carte purchasing is available on our website only.
  • Can I cancel my membership?
    Yes, you may do so on the website in your accounts page. Your billing will be discontinued starting from the following billing period. After you cancel, an automated email will be sent to you as proof of your plan changes.
  • What happens to my audiobooks if I cancel my membership?
    Nothing at all will happen to your audiobooks. Any books you purchase are yours to keep forever. If you’d like to explore other plans, contact us on support@semuaudiobooks.com
  • Do I keep my credits if I cancel my membership?
    If you end your membership, your credits will be lost with your other membership benefits. It would be best to try and use all of your credits before you make the final decision to end your membership. Remember, any audiobooks you purchase are yours to keep, even if you are no longer a member, so be sure to use those credits.
  • Why am I being charged tax on my monthly subscription and other purchases?
    New government regulations require digital goods and service providers to charge sales tax on all transactions. If you have any questions or concerns regarding tax collection, please contact us at suppot@semuaudiobooks.com
  • Do you support offline listening?
    Yes we do! Whether you’re on an airplane or in an area without network coverage, you can enjoy any previously-downloaded audiobooks that are saved to your device, since playing downloaded books doesn’t use data or require an internet connection. You won’t be able to browse the app, but just click on My Books to listen to your saved library.
  • What is the difference between streaming and downloading?
    When you stream an audiobook, you're able to instantly listen to the book over your internet connection. The great thing about streaming is that you don't need to download the audiobook first to listen to it, and it doesn't take up space on your device. Downloading is a great option when you have an internet connection and want to keep the book on your device for offline listening, especially if you're heading somewhere with poor reception.
  • I'm not receiving any emails from Semuaudiobooks What should I do?
    If you haven't been getting Semuaudiobooks.com emails, first check your junk mail or spam folder. If there are Semuaudiobooks.com emails there, mark them as "Safe" or "Move to inbox". Next, make sure that you've added contact@semuaudiobooks.com to your safe senders list. If you still find that you aren't receiving emails from us to your current email address, try signing up again to our subscription list on the website.
  • Are podcasts free?
    Yes! You can access over 100+ million podcast episodes through the "podcast" tab in your Semu Audiobooks app.
  • How do I listen to podcasts?
    Open your Semu Audiobooks app, click the menu in the top corner and navigate to “podcasts.” You can then click “Discover” to find and subscribe to new podcasts. You will then be able to review these under “My Podcasts” and “My Episodes.”
  • Does my access to podcasts change at the end of my free trial?
    Nope! Once your free trial has ended and you have become a full subscriber to Semu Audiobooks, you will continue to have access to your favorite podcasts.
  • How can I review an audiobook?
    Start by making sure you’re logged into your account. If you’re using the app, navigate to the book that you would like to review and click on the thumbs up icon under the book you like.
  • Can I exchange a book?
    Not at the moment. We currently do not offer the option to exchange a book or regain any credits spent. Please read the thorough book description and listen to the audio sample before purchasing a title to ensure best decision.
  • How can I check when my credits expire and how many are left?
    Credits expire one year after they were purchased. You can check when your credits expire by signing in to your account on our website. Click on Credit summary and you will find when credits were issued and their expiration date. The amount of credits you have left is found at the top of the App Discover page when you login. Additionally we issue an invoice for every membership purchase stating your used and remaining credits.
  • Where are my audiobooks stored?
    Semu Audiobooks is a cloud based audiobook library. All your purchased audiobooks will be accessible to stream from the cloud unless you have downloaded them, in which case they will be available on the App for offline listening.
  • Is there a summary of each book on the site?
    There is a thorough summary of each book when you click on the title. Many of the summaries are three and four paragraphs long, which gives a decent amount of information for potential readers to make an informed buying decision.
  • Can I still purchase audiobooks after I cancel my membership?
    Yes! Semu Audiobooks content can be purchased with or without a monthly subscription membership. However, you will be paying full retail price for the audiobooks, and by canceling your plan, you’ll miss out on great benefits like sales and more! However, any title you purchase with a credit or credit card can be listened to with or without a membership and is yours to keep regardless of your membership status.
  • Why do you have a review approval process?
    In order to keep discussions respectful and to guard against spam and abuse, our team evaluates every review. Our intention is never to censor opinions, but inappropriate or non-constructive reviews will be removed at the sole discretion of the Semu Audiobooks team. If your review is approved, it will appear live on the Semu Audiobooks website and app within three (3) business days.
  • Which devices can I listen to audiobooks on?
    You can listen to audiobooks with the free Semu Audiobooks App on smartphones and tablets running Android version 4.4 or higher or iOS version 9.0 or higher.
  • What happens to my unused credits if I cancel my subscription?
    Once you cancel your audiobooks subscription, any unused credits will remain active for six months beginning from your cancellation date. This means you’ll have six months to exchange each credit for an audiobook from our catalogue.
  • What if I run out of credits, but I’d like to listen to more than 1 audiobook a month?"
    That’s easy. Current subscribers can always buy instant credits to continue getting the best price on audiobooks. You can still buy an audiobook for its listed price any time.
