What is a credit?

A book credit allows you to listen to paid audiobooks in our library. You can choose one book per credit. You can use a credit to purchase any audiobook regardless of price. If you cancel your membership, your credits will not be lost. You'll be able to access your credit information anytime in your full credit summary, found on your Account Details page.

Can I buy more credits?

If you have used up your credits for the current billing period, you can upgrade to higher plan membership and use more credits. You can also wait for the start of the next billing period to get the credits according to your current subscription plan.

What do I need to know about my free membership?

On a free membership you will only be able to access free books. To access more books please upgrade your membership to one of the paid options. You can sign up for a free trial month for the paid membership. Once you sign up for our 30 day free trial, you get your first paid book free. You may cancel anytime during those 30 days. Once your free trial has expired, your monthly subscription fee will be automatically charged to the billing information on your account and credits will be assigned to your account, and you can continue to enjoy great audiobooks. **Please note that your free trial begins the day you sign up. For example, if you signed up for the free trial on April 1st the last day of your trial would be May 1st.

How much data and space does it take to listen to or download an audiobook on my smartphone?

Audiobook titles vary in size. If you're streaming and downloading an audiobook, we suggest having strong connection in your area. If you're downloading the audiobook to your iPhone or Android smartphone, check that you have enough memory space on your device.

How can I stop monthly payments?

You may do so on the website in your account page. Click on "..." of your current Subscription plan, choose "Change Plan" and then "Free". Your account will be switched to Free subscription plan. Your billing will be discontinued starting from the following billing period. After you cancel, an automated email will be sent to you as proof of your plan changes.

What happens to my audiobooks if I cancel my membership?

Nothing at all will happen to your audiobooks. Any books you purchase are yours to keep forever. If you’d like to explore other plans, contact us on

Do I keep my credits if I cancel my membership?

Yes, if you switch back to Free membership, you can exchange credits to a paid book later. Though we reccomend to try and use all of your credits before you make the final decision to end your membership. Remember, any audiobooks you purchase are yours to keep, even if you are no longer a member, so be sure to use those credits.

What is the difference between streaming and downloading?

When you stream an audiobook, you're able to instantly listen to the book over your internet connection. The great thing about streaming is that you don't need to download the audiobook first to listen to it, and it doesn't take up space on your device. Downloading is a great option when you have an internet connection and want to keep the book on your device for offline listening, especially if you're heading somewhere with poor reception.

I'm not receiving any emails from What should I do?

If you haven't been getting emails, first check your junk mail or spam folder. If there are emails there, mark them as "Safe" or "Move to inbox".
Next, make sure that you've added to your safe senders list. If you still find that you aren't receiving emails from us to your current email address, try signing up again to our subscription list on the website.

How can I review an audiobook?

Start by making sure you’re logged into your account. If you’re using the app, navigate to the book that you would like to review and click on the thumbs up icon under the book you like.

Can I exchange a book?

Not at the moment. We currently do not offer the option to exchange a book or regain any credits spent. Please read the thorough book description and listen to the audio sample before purchasing a title to ensure best decision.

How can I check how many credits are left?

You can check how many credits you purchased by signing in to your account on our website and checking your Account Details page. See the History of purchases to find when credits were issued. The amount of credits you have left is found at the top of the App Discover page when you login to mobile app. Additionally we issue an invoice for every membership purchase stating your used and remaining credits.

Where are my audiobooks stored?

Semu Audiobooks is a cloud based audiobook library. All your purchased audiobooks will be accessible to stream from the cloud unless you have downloaded them, in which case they will be available on the App for offline listening.

Is there a Summary of Each Book on The Site?

There is a thorough summary of each book when you click on the title. Many of the summaries are three and four paragraphs long, which gives a decent amount of information for potential readers to make an informed buying decision.

How do I sign up?

You can create a personal account at After you enter your email, one-time password will be sent to your email. After registration you can use your email to log in to Semu Audiobooks mobile app.

What are the benefits of paid subscription?

With the paid subscription you can get Credits which can later be exchanged for paid books. In order to start a paid subscription you will need to enter details of your credit/debit card. After subscription is started, you will get first paid book for free. First charge from your card will be done after 1-month trial period. Next charges will be done automatically each payment period. You will not need to log in to web account each payment period.

Can I cancel subscription after 1-month trial period?

Yes, if you change your subscription plan to Free within first 30 days after start of subscription, no money will be charged from your card.

Is it save to enter my card details?

Yes, we don't save or store your card details. This information is handled by a payment system Stripe which is compliant to Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards (PCI DSS).
